Jacob happenings...

Baking oatmeal cranberry white chocolate chunk cookies with mommy! He was so happy to sit on top of the island. He was closely supervised!
Cranberries are one of his favorite snacks!
Having breakfast in Chinatown with Grandma, Grandpa, Oeum Proh, and Junior! It was a nice surprise to have breakfast with my brother and his son. It was lots of fun!
Oeum Ray and Junior! Father and son, but total buds!
Jacob and Oeum. Ray agrees that Jacob and Junior are so similar in soooo many ways! Busy, busy, busy!
Junior loves his cousin. All day they copied each other's actions and it was pure entertainment! Jacob learned how to make karate moves against a door from Junior. Junior learned how to jump and stomp on the scale from Jacob.
Big bear hugs!! We loooove big bear hugs! The only thing was that Jacob didn't expect such a tight one...lol...if you know anything about Junior, he has heavy hands and doesn't realize it! He's going to be a great football player one day! Anyhow, he absolutely adores and is very protective of Jacob. They are going to be really good buddies!

Junior and his Cars cap...CANNOT go anywhere without it!
Just woke up from a nap and ready to play with all his cousins!
Jacob and Eliza...told ya...we looove bear hugs!
Goofy picture! Isaac in the background and Eliza cheesy smile...love em to pieces!
He has gotten so big. When I brought Jacob downstairs, Isaac said, "Oh my goodness, he is so cute!" Isaac is such a sweetie!
Smith...he will be good buddies with Jacob because he will totally watch out for him and beat up anyone who messes with Jacob!
Ariel, Gracie, Macy, and Jacob...

Bedtime is 8:30pm...it is now 11:30 pm...that smile on his face doesn't convince me that he's ready for bed...*sigh*
Big kisses from mommy!!!! Can't get enough!!!!
Hide and go seek...can you find Jacob? because...sometimes, we cannot! This gate is used to block him from getting to Gracie because he keeps throwing his toys over for her to chew on. Well, whaddayakno?? He has learned how to bypass the gate. He uses his left foot to hold down the gate, and scoots his body through the opening to get to the other side. Now how did he learn how to do that??? Smart, smart, busy boy!
Oh yes, I forgot to add that we caught him, once, playing with the airwicks. He was in deep trouble. He threw a tantrum...but, he had to know it was not okay! I should also add that he has learned how to turn on and off any electronic device and knows open the cd player.
Playing dress up with mommy...just getting ready for Great Grandma's 80th bday party!
Puzzle? nah! I'd rather play with mommy's phone!
So cute!

Brotherly and sisterly love. How precious!!!!

Results are in...

Results are negative. I will go back for cycle 2 on day three and repeat everything. I'm bummed, but I'm okay. The oreo shake totally helped...but most of all, walking in the door after work and getting the biggest hug from the cutest little boy ever made it so much better. I loved that he clung onto my hips and laid his head on my shoulder. He must have known the results before I did...it meant so much to me. Thank you, Jacob Thomas. I love you. =)

Rain boots and NO!

These rain boots are a life saver when it comes to keeping Jacob busy in the morning for me to get ready for work! I'm glad he can finally wear them and KEEP them on. It's still a little big, but I love it! Jacob has also learned how to say no. It's so cute! I tried to get it on video today, but he refused to say anything when the camera was on. I am sure it won't be cute when he really understands what that word means. But for now, it's totally cute!
This is where he sits to put on his shoes. Gotta love the stomping!

My kids...

My students are awesome! They crack me up. Many of them have been wondering why I've been leaving work early, on last minute notice, for my crazy doctor appointments. When I decided to talk to them, many of the girls were making these funny noises hoping that I'd reveal I was pregnant! When I said I wasn't, they were all like..."Awwwwww!" Then, one said, "Are you dying?" LOL...hahaha...that was so cute (the way they asked was cute). Another asked, "Do you have cancer?" Then, the best one was, "Do you have lumps on your chest?" Hahaha...these kids are funny! I finally told them that my body wasn't functioning like a 'normal' 28 year old female and that I needed help. They said they noticed my mood swings, but were afraid to say anything because they didn't want to get a referral or lose their recess!! Hahaha...anyway, they are happy that I don't have to leave like that again until another couple of weeks, but they really made me feel loved and I had such a great time talking about it.

Today funnies: One student looked at my wedding picture on my phone and said, "Mrs. Sorensen, not to be mean or anything, but why don't you look like you used to? I mean, you are still pretty, but you seriously need some makeup!" I laughed so hard. It's true, I need makeup.

Cramps

The injection site is very sore. It's swollen and very sensitive to touch. It hurts the most when Jacob is climbing all over me, but that's okay. Today was the insemination date. Everything went well, except I didn't remember how painful it was. I felt EVERYTHING this time and it was not very pleasant! I don't remember the discomfort from the last IUI, so I was really ill-prepared. I wanted to cry and needed someone there with me. Jeremiah was at work, so he couldn't be there. The onset of cramps arrived shortly after the procedure. The drive home was not bad...I didn't feel a lot of pain. Sitting up doesn't seem to bother me very much, but it's really hard for me to walk upright. It's also hard for me to pick up Jacob, but Jeremiah stepped in to help. I will find out the results next Tuesday. Will keep everyone updated...

Ouch!

Gave myself the hCG shot this morning...I was a nervous wreck! I hadn't done this in over a year and didn't know if I remembered well enough to do it right. After reading the instructions a few hundred times with a crying baby (Jakey was just building the suspense for me), I had the confidence to mix the solution and give the injection. Not only were my hands shaking ridiculously, but I bent the injection needle and so when I injected it through my lower abdomen, it hurt pretty bad. The site is pretty sore. I am waiting for the other side effects to kick in since my body is sensitive to everything! Tomorrow afternoon at 3:20, I will go in for the insemination. Crossing fingers..!!!

What is hCG? hCG is injected into the muscle or under the skin to trigger ovulation. When used at mid-cycle, hCG can act like your body's luteinizing hormone (LH) surge. The hormone that will tell if you are ovulating or not when you use the ovulation predictor kit. The hCG causes the dominant follicle in the ovary to release its egg approximately 36-40 hours after the injection.

Every now and then I fall apart...

Getting ready for our weekly grocery shopping...

New carseat...WE LOVE IT!
I think I might be the only mother on this planet that will bring her camera to Safeway and take pictures of her son...=)
We like to think that the cart cover would help prevent catching germs, but uh...as you can see here, it doesn't always work that way with a 17 month old.
This weekend, I spent some time at my parents house. They can't get enough of Jakey. Here he is driving with Mama in E-Ca's car. =p
He should enjoy this now while it lasts because we are DEFINITELY not going to buy him a Mercedes when he graduates from high school...*ahem*...Monica....
Lunch with my besties at Barneys in Piedmont. Our original plan was for Fentons, but the wait was 60-90 minutes long...and plus, I think the boys totally had a wonderful time at this yummy burger joint.
"Jacob meet Lenox...Lenox...meet Jacob"
Can you guess how far a part these boys are??? Yep, 7 months! They are the same size.
Trade a pack of mentos for a kiss??!!? What about twenty dollars?!?!? Chuckie just wouldn't give in!!! So...while we were about ready to leave, I grabbed him, and gave him a big peck on the cheek! =D (Jeremiah, please don't be jealous!!!)
The boys together...we just couldn't get them to all look at the same time. They are so cuuuuute!!
My best friends from high school, Nay Colvin and Mariana Anaya...we're missing a few folks (Jo and Pino), but will meet up in February! Can't wait!!
Okay, so what's up with my post title?? This is how I feel right now going through the treatments. I thought I would be able to handle it well since I've been through it multiple times before, but I was WRONG! It is an emotional rollercoaster and I can't seem to get use to the ups and downs. I had my ultrasound on Friday and it appears that the eggs in my left ovary is not maturing. Two have matured on the right and we are hoping it'll continue to grow for the procedure. The doctor said I should ovulate by today, Sunday, and the injections should be given tomorrow morning, but I haven't ovulated...so...I don't know what to do! I guess I need to follow their instructions. Insemination will take place on Tuesday. I want to think positive, but honestly I am not feeling it this month. I also lost 7 pounds due to loss of appetite. Plus, I'm upset with something else so it just adds to the stress. Just hoping for a better week than last...that's all.

Treatment Update

Last ultrasound looked really good and a ton of bloodwork completed (both jer and I) and we were given the go for treatments. I started 5 mg of Letrozole on cycle day 3-7. On day 10, which is this Friday, I will go in for another ultrasound and depending on the size of the follicles, they will give me the HCG injection. If not, I will have to do it at home myself. I'm okay with this because I've done it before several times...but only if Jeremiah doesn't watch! Weird, but I'm weird like that. =P Then, artificial insemination the following week. Stressful? Yes. Am I moody? Just ask Jeremiah. Tired? Totally exhausted! Worth it? Absolutely!

Brush hair? or Brush teeth?

Some time ago, my mother gave Jacob a soft brush and we taught him how to brush his hair. Recently, he just seem to enjoy chewing on plastic spoons, so we decided to switch it out with a toothbrush instead. Well, let's just say he's a bit confused now. He's so adorably cute!

We were so worried that Jacob would be rough with Koda and Kessie, so we were always on the watch. He did very well around them and they were too. However, he continues to be aggressive with Gracie.
