Video: Jacob has been pinching and scratching us. Each time we say no, he either pinches harder or walks away, then comes back to do it again. So, today I've figured out how to help him understand why it's not okay. If he pinches or scratches, we'd take his hand into our hand and look at him and say sternly, "No pinch/scratch." He knows we mean it and would cry. We have also found a location for a "time out," which is in front of the ottoman that is blocking the DVD player, etc. He is there for a little bit (less than 10 seconds) until he either wants us to hug or hold him. My parents would be totally opposed to this idea, but...? Check out the video.

Taking advantage of the weather

When I get home from work, I always take Jacob outside for walks. We like walking to the mailbox. Jacob loves playing with the stop sign post on our front lawn. He also likes to hear cars go by and make funny faces like the one below. As the flu season appears to be getting worse and RSV shots in a week, Jacob is finally on lockdown. He will be homebound until March. Sad, huh? It won't be as difficult as last winter, but we are lessening his interaction with people and crowds more than before. SOOOO...if you're visiting or planning on visiting, please make sure you are NOT sick and be prepared to wash your hands...A LOT! =) He's an expert in walking and now just exploring how to 'speed walk' or in other words, RUN. He's so curious. He picked up random leaves and branches and tried putting it in his mouth. I'm like...Kiddo!! whatcha thinkin'?!!? I like that he's exploring his environment, but it makes me really nervous. Looking for Gracie...
Playing with grass...not a big fan of it. However, now he'll walk on it.
Told you...he's not a big fan.
This is me asking if he wants me to pick him up...hahaha...look at his face.
The pole to the stop sign that is on the corner of our lawn.
He is so adorably cute!

This is how small he is...very small compared to an average 12 mth old.
He's probably tired of me taking pictures of him every 2 seconds.
Aww...look at me...I just wanted one decent picture of us together before he pushed and shoved me away. He so cute. I think he looks a lot like Jeremiah in this picture. He's fast! His first pair of stride rites...loooooove their shoes. I rate them higher than pediped, robeez, see kai run shoes, nike's, and department store shoes. Gracie trying to squeeze herself through the bottom of the fence as we walk by the side of the house.
Jacob signing, "MORE."

Playing outside

The weather outside is absolutely gorgeous today! We woke up, had a great breakfast, and watched the 179th semi-annual general conference on our computer. It was nice to be home and listen to the general authorities speak and not worry about Jacob walking all over the overflow causing problems. We had a few, "Jacob, no uh-uhs" but we were able to enjoy the entire session. After watching conference, Jacob and I decided to go outside and soak up the sun a little bit. Plus, I wanted him to get used to walking with shoes. We had a lot of fun in the backyard, but Jacob wasn't too thrilled when we went walking in the front yard. =)

Here, we are just getting ready to go on our weekly trip to the farmer's market in town. This week, it was just the two of us. Jacob was soooo good in the stroller. We had a fun day, except for when a lady almost backed up into the stroller in the parking lot. She was LITERALLY millimeters away from hitting it. Fortunately, Jacob was already strapped in his carseat in the car. Anyway, as she backs up past the stroller, she rolls down her window and says, "I'm sorry! I didn't know a baby was in there." I was like..."Uh...really??!?!?" Yeah, I wasn't too happy about that.Jacob is wearing a jacket Grandma Horn got for him when he was in the hospital, like a year ago. LOL. He fits it now.
The jacket matches Grandpa Horn's jacket. I guess they're supposed to be twins one of these days.
WARNING: Lots of crying in this video, but the smile in the end makes it all worth watching!
