Ward Christmas breakfast

Our ward decided to have a PJ Christmas party and I thought it was a clever idea!! But you know me...my kids woke up...threw them in the bathtub...dressed them up in their cute pjs...fixed their hair..etc..LOL. I'm something sometimes. The party was lots of fun, except for the waiting for Santa part. We totally wanted to ditch the mile long line, but knew both Jacob and Peter the panda would be super disappointed, so we stood in line...forever.
Listening to the Christmas program...
He wanted to held the entire time...not a surprise for Tay.
See the look on his face...we couldn't leave the line. He would have been devastated.
She didn't know what was going on. Everyone did the "awww" when she had pouty face.
I wonder what he told Santa.
I know Santa told him that he had to help Mommy at home because she depends on his help...I love our Santa. :)
The delicious ever so sticky treat that mommy had to clean up after it was half eaten.

I had to take some snapshots at home. The kids were too adorable not to.
A forced hug after a fight over the remote control car. Guess what Santa brought them?? And they played with it for how long??????? Yup, 2 seconds. Nice.
Happy again. Sometimes the big bro just has to give it up.
Told the kid that when the marker is at the number 1, we'd be able to open presents. Innocently, he goes over and you know it...drops it down to 1. Funny kid!

He really thought we were going to open presents...what a disappointment for Jake when he realized it didn't work that way. LOL
Holy cow! Isn't she just adorable!?
Saw what his bro did and did the exact same thing.

I love their expressions. Attempting to take pics of all three at once never works, but boy do I love their facial expressions. Priceless.

Family Surprise!

This expression says it all!! We are ALL so happy daddy surprised us with a trip to Disneyland for January of 2013! We, yes, including mommy, jumped up and down and screamed...it was awesome!

He wouldn't let the book go.
We love daddy! He is an amazing father and great husband and we seriously get whatever we want. We are so fortunate to have someone who loves us so much and am willing to do whatever it takes to give us a great life. We love you daddy!!!

Peter the Panda

It was Jacob's week to have Peter the Panda at home with us and boy was it fun! We started off with a trip to the grocery store and did all sorts of fun things with Peter. Jake was sad to have to return him back to school the following Thursday. He
Emma the curious...walking her way up to Jake to try to grab Peter.

Tay and Em

The "look"
Teasing Em with the bag of cookies
She knows what she wants and WILL get what she wants...
My cutie in her legwarmers and cheetah top.
Captured her smile and isn't she the cutest?

Tay Tay

Taylor is a very sweet boy. He loves to hold you, kiss you, rub your back, pat your head, hug you...basically anything that will make you feel better or smile. He has a heart of giant! Here he is enjoying his lunch. One of his favorite things to do is to make his own concoction of drinks. What you see on his plate will be seen in a cup of water as soon as you turn your back. No worries though...he'll still make sure his breakfast, lunch, or dinner is finished. It grosses us out, but he insists on finishing it.
Jake always make it a point to tell us when something is right or wrong, especially if it's with others. But boy, when it comes to him...he's never wrong.
Tay is in his own little world.
A surprise bouquet from my lovely and handsome hubby bc he knew I had a long and hard day with the kids. These always accompany some sort of yummy treats...I believe it was the chocolate torte from Costco this time. Love him to pieces.
A day in the Sorensen household..toys everywhere..
The kids toy room...it has totally changed because of other things we've put there, but I'm trying to catch up to blogging and I'm sure I added this picture for some reason for which I have totally forgotten why.
OH..okay...here are pictures of the kids on the way. We love em!
Pic of our kitchen and family room.

Good News

Hi All,

We have great news. The doctor said that Jacob is okay. Though some numbers from his blood work were elevated that caused concern, he feels that they were insignificant when looking at the data collectively. Jake had more blood drawn today and the doctor was very pleased that one of the bloodcount decreased. We are waiting for more results and Jake will have to draw more blood in the next week, but we were assured that Jake does not have lymphoma or leukemia. He most likely has the viral infection, mono. He was tested specifically for that today. We will get results in a few days.

I know, with all of my heart, that through collective prayer, fasting, and powers of the priesthood, miracles occurred. I know that for sure! The lymph nodes under his arms and in his groins were gone when he was examined today. I can't believe the miracles that I experience every single day of my life...being able to raise my children and being married to a wonderful spouse. I feel so blessed in every way. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. We love you all....NOW...off to Disneyland tomorrow!

Heartbroken

Jacob has had a very difficult few months with back to back infections. The kids kept passing the cold back and forth to each other, landing us in the pediatricians office at about every other week since October. Last week, after four days off antibiotics, sure enough, Jake started another cold. Four days had passed and at some point we knew it would get worse, as in requiring antibiotics for some bacterial infection, not just the common cold. Saturday night, while packing for our upcoming family vacation, Jake complained about some pain underneath his jaw alongside his neck. I felt the area and it was swollen. I checked the other side and it was swollen too. I then grabbed Taylor to compare and he was fine. I frantically ran over to Jeremiah with Jake in my hands and told him what was going on. Jake could sense me panicking and began to cry and fell asleep. We called the nurse and with his vomiting and not eating well, plus the swollen areas, she sent us to the ER.

We get there and checking in was a breeze..probably the best registration we've evr experienced with an emergency room. To cut the long story short, the doctor examined Jake and found several more lymph nodes (the swelling) in other parts of his body, the armpits and groin. She did her best not to scare us, but come on...you are dealing with a NiCU mom here and I cried and cried and cried bc I knew it was something serious. She ordered several blood tests and an X-ray. Watching jake get an IV put in and him throwing up and screaming just broke my heart. I was reliving a nightmare all over again. (Before the blood collection, Jeremiah gave Jacob a blessing and we felt comforted instantly in that very second.) Three hours had passed, and we finally got the results...they all came back normal. What a relief! Then, the doctor said the word cancer and I could feel my temperature decrease and my eyes began to well up. Though the blood test checked for preliminary signs of cancer, she felt it would be wise to check with an oncologists for more tests. My heart dropped again as I held on to my poor boys sweet hands. I could not believe it. She comfortably sent us home...and since then, my mind has been running at a million miles per second. I continue to cry and worry about the possibilities. My life, had yet turned upside down again in a matter of seconds.

Jeremiah and my father gave Jacob a priesthood blessing last night and both had felt very strongly that Jacob would be fine. I was given a blessing too. I had been praying  and pleading with Heavenly Father to help our littl family, especially my precious Jacob.

Today, I called the oncologists and was greeted with, "Welcome to the cancer and hematology center at..." I could barely contain myself and spoke as clearly as I could with the receptionist. Never did I have to think I'd call a place like this in my life. My heart is completely broken and I am so hurt...I don't want to see my son go through any pain...I don't think I can bare it. ...so please keep him in your prayers and hope that this is nothing more than an infection that his body had a hard time fighting off...out appointment is tomorrow so until then, we will keep everyone updated.

Christmas pictures before church???

The kids were so cute, I thought I should take a few snapshots before church because after church, we're all pretty destroyed. It was fun, but a lot of work. Let's just say, I left for church all sweaty!
Just look at all the kids facial expression...priceless.
Their personalities comes through...

Staring at something above my head...
I had a trackmaster train right above my head to get the kids expression and when I got them to look, I put the train down and it started chugging its way towards the Christmas tree...that is why they turned their heads.
